    UNIT 5 CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 PRECAUTION

    Unit 5 continues to closely monitor and plan for the rapidly changing Coronavirus/COVID-19 health issue in Illinois and the US.

    As of January 13, there are 12,797 CASES OF COVID-19 in McLean County.

    Elementary: 7:45 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.

    High Schools:  8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

    Junior High:  8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

    Early Childhood:  7:45 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. - AM CLASS

    Early Childhood: 11:45 am - 2:15 pm - PM CLASS

  • SPRING BREAK

    sun The Unit 5 District Office and all schools will be closed March 22-March 26 for spring break. Classes resume March 29. Enjoy your time off and have a safe spring vacation.

  • LATE START WEDNESDAY - MARCH 10

    Wednesday, March. 10, is a late start day for elementary students. Classes will begin one hour later than usual. Elementary classes will start at 8:45 am. Students should be at their designated bus stop one hour later than their regularly scheduled pickup time. Early childhood students will start at the regular time.     Late Starts allow time for Unit 5 staff members to meet for professional development and collaboration, which will improve classroom instruction and enhance opportunities for students.

  • KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION crayons

    Kindergarten registration will be in March. Children reaching the age of 5 on or before September 1, 2021, will be eligible for enrollment in kindergarten and should register at their home school. Please watch for more information.

  • NEW 9th GRADE DENTAL MANDATES

    There is a new mandate for a 9th grade dental exam.  

      • All Illinois children in kindergarten, Grade 2, Grade 6, and Grade 9 are required to have an oral health examination. 
      • Examinations must be performed by a licensed dentist, and he/she must sign the Proof of School Dental Examination form. 
      • Each child is required to present proof of examination by a dentist prior to May 15 of the school year. 
     • School dental examinations must have been completed within the 18 months prior to the May 15 deadline.

    Unit 5 is on Pinterest. The social media site provides a variety of resources for parents and students on wide ranging topics. Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board allowing Unit 5 to organize and share items. We create themed boards (for example, “our Schools”), collect images and content from the web, and “pin” those items on the board.So if you are a pinner, start pinning some of our items on your boards!  http://pinterest.com/unit5schools/
