• NCWHS Announcements – Monday, January 30th, 2023

     

    This February your Normal West IMC is proud to celebrate Black History Month through affirming books and resources that honor and celebrate Black voices, Black achievements, and Black lives. Check out the Black History Month virtual book display or stop by the IMC to browse a much larger collection of books that are highlighted far beyond these 28 days.

    Congratulations to the Normal West cheer team on their advancement to the state finals next weekend!!!

    Book club will meet before school this Friday, February 3rd in the IMC. Breakfast will be provided!

    There will be an informational meeting for girls’ soccer on Thursday, February 2nd in Room 212 at 3:45-4:30pm. Please see Coach Walker in Room 212 if you are unable to attend.

    If you have an NCWHS teacher or staff member who you believe deserves some recognition, here is your chance to give them a shout-out!  Look for the nominations form that is linked below every couple of weeks during this semester to nominate a teacher or staff member you think exhibits "kat-itude." The link is HEREso click on it to nominate a deserving staff member for this cycle's contest! Please have your nomination in by 8:30am on Wednesday, February 1!

     

    The Normal West Black student Union are doing “Black Fact Friday” This is open to everyone in the school. Send a message to normalwestbsu on Instagram to be featured on Black Fact Friday! 

     

    The Black student Union will also be having a blood drive February 17th, more information will be provided soon!

    Art Club will meet on Monday, February 13 from 3:30-5pm in room 113. We will be painting wig stands for patients at our local cancer center. Hope to see you all there!

    Interested in applying for the National Honor Society? Sophomores and Juniors with a GPA 3.7 or higher, should have received an email from Ms. Beggs regarding applications for NHS. If you would like to apply please fill out the application (found in your email) and return it by Friday, February 17th. Please email Ms. Beggs (beggse@unit5.org) with any questions.

     

    Sophomores and Juniors- The 2023-2024 mentoring application is up and running!    Whether you work with FMP or AMP, you will have an opportunity to positively impact our school.   Applications are due February 10th!   Check your email, look for QR codes around the building or talk to your counselor during course selection to apply!  See Mr. Klokkenga or Mr. Ostling with questions.
