NCWHS Announcements – Monday, February 6th, 2023
Want a study hall and don't already have one? You may request one by picking up a green drop form from the counseling office. You can only have one study hall per semester by dropping an elective class. The last day to request a study hall is February 17th.
The Normal West BSU is having a spirit week from Starting this Monday through Friday. Today is Streetwear, On Tuesday wear your favorite t-shirt with a famous black person on it. Wednesday wear Shades of brown, on Thursday wear your favorite pair of sneakers, and Friday wear all black! Participants will be documented and will have a chance to win a prize!
Planning to tryout for softball? There will be a mandatory meeting in Room 203 on Tuesday February 14. Please attend at 7:50am or at 3:35pm. See Coach Schermann if you have any questions.
The Normal West Dance Team is sponsoring a Valentine Triple Treat!!! The cost is $5. This includes a Heart sugar cookie, candy and a flower. Pre Orders taken during lunch hours Feb. 8-13. They are also sold individually.
Girls soccer tryouts will be on the 27th of February at West from 4:00-6:30 pm if the weather cooperates, or 7:00-9:00 pm if the weather is bad.
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite King of Hearts candidate this week in the Atrium during lunch!!
Tryouts for Boys Tennis will be on March 6th-7th 3:45-5:15 pm. Meet at the tennis courts. Please bring a racket!
Just a reminder that we still have tutoring after school in the IMC on Mondays and Wednesdays. It starts right after school and ends at 4:30. Transportation home is provided. See Mrs. Goveia or Ms. Taylor with questions.
betabrain is back! This fun, free STEM competition will be held on Friday, March 3 from 6-8pm at Kingsley Junior High. The theme this year is Book Scavenger. Come challenge your puzzle solving abilities! Get a group of friends together and get registered at unit5.org/betabrain

This February your Normal West IMC is proud to celebrate Black History Month through affirming books and resources that honor and celebrate Black voices, Black achievements, and Black lives. Check out the Black History Month virtual book display or stop by the IMC to browse a much larger collection of books that are highlighted far beyond these 28 days.
The Normal West Black student Union are doing “Black Fact Friday” This is open to everyone in the school. Send a message to normalwestbsu on Instagram to be featured on Black Fact Friday!
The Black student Union will also be having a blood drive February 17th; more information will be provided soon!
Art Club will meet on Monday, February 13 from 3:30-5pm in room 113. We will be painting wig stands for patients at our local cancer center. Hope to see you all there!
