• NCWHS Announcements – Monday, December 5th, 2022

     

    The Junior class board is sponsoring Spirit days for this week:
    Monday - Sweater Weather (wear your favorite holiday/cozy sweater)
    Tuesday - Winter Character Day (dress up as your favorite holiday character)
    Wednesday - Class Color Day
    Freshman - Blue 
    Sophomores - White 
    Juniors - Red 
    Seniors - Green 
    Staff: Your favorite color
    Thursday- Pajama Day
    Friday - Flannel Friday

    Best Buddies will meet on Tuesday, December 6th from 3:30-4:30. Please bring a wrapped ornament to share at our meeting. Contact Ms. L or Mrs. Peterson if you cannot attend.

    The Normal Winter Guard is a performing group that is open to Normal West and Normal Community students of all levels of experience and genders.  Clinics will be held in the auditorium on Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon.  Bring a bottle of water, wear clothing you can move in, and enter the building by the marching band semi.  For additional information, visit the marching band website:  normalmb.org.  Stop by the band room if you have any questions.  We would love to have you as a part of the group!

    On Thursday December 8 from 6:00-8:00pm, Normal West Girls Who Code Club, CyberPatriot, AP Computer Science students and Computer Science Honor Society members will be hosting our 7th Annual K-8 Coding Night!  This is a FREE event and will be held in person!  We would love to have volunteers (teachers, high school students, etc) for this event!  Please help spread the word to get some K-8 students signed up.

    Student Council will meet on Wednesday, December 7th from 3:30-4:30. Please bring a wrapped ornament to exchange at our meeting. 

    Pride’s annual HoliGays party is on Wednesday Dec 7th after school in room 1008 until 4:30 PM. See Mrs. Long or Srta. Evans if you have any questions. 

    Feeling stressed about finals? Stop by the IMC this week to de-stress with calming coloring pages or make your own book page ornament, work with others on a holiday puzzle or simply enjoy a cup of hot cocoa from the IMC's Coffee Nook and relax with a good book!

    Student Council is now searching for our King of Hearts contestants!   Please fill out the form to nominate your favorite candidate!

    Students: “Try Lacrosse” Clinic on Thursday, December 15th from 7:30-9:00pm!!   It will be held at the Shirk Center.   Who is invited? 8th-12th Grade Boys & Girls for NCHS, West, & Bloomington High Schools. Did you know that lacrosse is an awesome off-season sport because it uses many of the same skills and strategies as those sports? Come learn how to play lacrosse from current Illinois Wesleyan coaches and BN lacrosse players. All athletes are welcome. This introduction will put you in position to play this spring with the BN Lacrosse co-op, which has players from NCHS, NCWHS and BHS. Come out and give it a try! No experience required to attend. Equipment will be provided.

    Reminder & Details for December 8th
    On December 8th, counselors will be meeting with sophomores during 1st-4th hours and with juniors 5th-8th hours in the auditorium and 150 A/B to discuss course selection for next year. All sophomores will check into their first hour for attendance, then go to the auditorium area after attendance is taken. Please bring your chromebooks! Sophomores will stay with the counselors through fourth hour, then attend their normal 5th-8th hour classes.

    All juniors will attend first through fourth hours as normal, check into 5th hour for attendance, then go down to the auditorium area after attendance is taken. Please bring your chrome books! Juniors will stay with the counselors through eighth hour. 

    For both grade levels, groups will be separated by AP alpha breakdown:
    A-G - start in auditorium
    H-O - start in room 150A
    P-Z - start in room 150B
