BSU is having a meeting this Thursday after school from 3:35-4:30pm in room 234A. Come join us!
Anyone interested in learning more about STEM Club, Girls Who Code or CyberPatriot should attend an informational meeting on Thursday September 15 from 3:30-4pm in Room 203. See Mr. Weber or Coach Schermann if you cannot attend.
In celebration of Homecoming week, we have the annual Wildcat Volleyball game on Monday, September 19th starting at 6pm in the big gym. Want to play on your class’s team? Signups are this week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Atrium during lunch hours. The first 12 to sign up will make the team! Cost is $5 and can be paid with cash or Venmo the night of the game. To all Wildcats, kick off Homecoming week by watching your fellow ‘Cats compete for bragging rights and see whether the teacher team can hold their own against the top-class team! Class colors for the games are:
Freshman-- yellow Junior—red Sophomore-- green Senior—blue
Normal West PRIDE club will have our first meeting on Wednesday September 14th in room 1008. We will be decorating signs for the homecoming parade. Contact Mrs. Long or Ms. Evans with any questions.
JUNIORS: Registration is open for the PSAT / NMSQT exam that will be on Wednesday, October 12. Please see the Counseling Office website, Infinite Campus messages or Class of 2024 google classroom for information and the link to register.
Homecoming Tickets for the 2022 Normal West Homecoming Dance will go on sale beginning Friday, September 2nd online. Information about how to purchase tickets will be available on the Normal West Website and on flyers throughout the school. The dance will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 8-10:30 at Normal West.
Dungeons & Dragons Club will have an informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 14th, from 3:30-4pm in the IMC. No experience is required to join! See Mrs. Unsbee in Room 1004 if you have any questions.
Homecoming Spirit days for next week are as follows:
Monday - 70s Music festival
Tuesday - 80s movie character day
Wednesday - 90s rock grunge
Thursday - 2000s slumber party (pajamas)
Friday - West Spirit day
If you have an NCWHS teacher or staff member who you believe deserves some recognition, here is your chance to give them a shout-out! Look for the nominations form that is linked below every couple of weeks during the school year to nominate a teacher or staff member you think exhibits "kat-itude." The link is HERE, so click on it to nominate a deserving staff member for this cycle's contest! The deadline for this cycle is by Wednesday, September 14 at 8:30 am!
Want a study hall and don't already have one? You may request one by picking up a green drop form from the counseling office. You can only have one study hall per semester by dropping an elective class. The last day to request a study hall is September 29th.
Normal West Best Buddies creates one-to-one friendships by connecting students with peers that have intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you're interested in being a dedicated friend and member of this club at school, please attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 14th in room 113 from 3:30-4:00. Homecoming Guest Forms are now available in the main office. You need a guest form for any NON—West guest. One guest and guest form per person. Forms must be returned to YOUR Assistant Principal by September 16, 3:30pm. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED
Attention Junior Powder Puff girls: We will be having a meeting Friday, September 16th from 3:35-3:45 in Room 1005 to discuss upcoming powder puff practices and the game. We will have practice Monday, September 19th and Tuesday, September 20th from 3:45-5:15 next to the Champion Fields Parking Lot. Please make the necessary arrangements at work. Remember, you need to be at all of the meetings/practices to be eligible to play in the game Wednesday, September 21st. Please see Mr. Klokkenga for your permission slip and please bring it completed to the September 16th meeting. Any questions, see Mr. Klokkenga.

The people who organize the "Catching the Kat-itude" initiative are looking for any and all talented artists to enter for a chance to have their drawing or design made into a sticker! The winning design will be printed onto a large batch of stickers and be given to Kat-itude winners throughout this school year! If you would like to enter the contest, take this chance to flex your artist muscles, get some recognition and gain ultimate bragging rights! *All entries must be submitted by September 30*The designs should include the words "I've caught the Kat-itude," but the design is completely up to the designer.
*Your design must be submitted as either a high-quality JPG, PNG, or a PSD(submission in other formats will be ignored).
