NCWHS Announcements – Tuesday, September 6th
Anyone interested in learning more about STEM Club, Girls Who Code or CyberPatriot should attend an informational meeting on Thursday September 15 from 3:30-4pm in Room 203. See Mr. Weber or Coach Schermann if you cannot attend.
Are you interested in international relations? Do you like to discuss global issues? Come stop by room 110 for Model UN's first meeting on Friday, September 9th for an informational meeting about participating in the Model United Nations. See Dr. Bierbaum with questions.
Homecoming is around the corner, and that means Wildcat Volleyball sign ups are coming soon! If you want to play on your class's Volleyball team, be sure to sign up next week on Monday, Wednesday or Friday in the Atrium during lunch hours. The Wildcat volleyball games will be played Monday, Sept 19th, starting 6pm in the North Gym.
JUNIORS: Registration is open for the PSAT / NMSQT exam that will be on Wednesday, October 12. Please see the Counseling Office website, Infinite Campus messages or Class of 2024 google classroom for information and the link to register.
Homecoming Tickets for the 2022 Normal West Homecoming Dance will go on sale beginning Friday, September 2nd online. Information about how to purchase tickets will be available on the Normal West Website and on flyers throughout the school. The dance will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 8-10:30 at Normal West.
Want a study hall and don't already have one? You may request one by picking up a green drop form from the counseling office. You can only have one study hall per semester by dropping an elective class. The last day to request a study hall is September 29th.
Attention all students who are Interested in playing Girls Basketball this year!! Starting Wednesday 09/07/2022 we will be having open gyms every Monday and Wednesday evening starting at 6:00pm- 7:45pm. Normal West Best Buddies creates one-to-one friendships by connecting students with peers that have intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you're interested in being a dedicated friend and member of this club at school, please attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 14th in room 113 from 3:30-4:00. Contact Mrs. Peterson or Ms. Lueschen if you have any questions.
If you still have library books that you checked out for summer reading, they are now overdue. Please return ANY books from summer reading or books that were not returned from last year and we will void lost book charges in Infinite Campus. We just want the books back so others can check them out.
Homecoming Guest Forms are now available in the main office. You need a guest form for any NON—West guest. One guest and guest form per person. Forms must be returned to YOUR Assistant Principal by September 16, 3:30pm. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED
The Normal West Boxing Club will have an informational meeting after school in Room 109 on Wednesday, September 7. If you have interest in boxing, Muay Thai or other serious combat arts, please attend. Reminder - you must have no Ds or Fs and no discipline referrals to be in the club.
Are you interested in helping organize and volunteer at service events in the school and community? Join Key Club. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday September 7th at either 8:10 am or 3:30pm in room 206. Email Ms. Kraus with any questions (krausm@unit5.org).
Attention students who are interested in attending Theatre Fest at the University of Illinois in January: there will be a brief informational meeting in the auditorium directly after school on Tuesday, September 6th. Come find out about Theatre Fest and get the information you'll need about agendas, payment, rooming, and meals. See Mr. Kerr in room 111 if you cannot attend or if you have any questions.
