    In an attempt to combat the disruptions to our theatre programs caused by COVID-19, the Everywhere Is a Stage Festival is currently accepting auditions for the fall play festival that is being hosted by the Bloomington-Normal high schools. You can find all information about the festival and submit an audition at http://everywhereisastage.weebly.com/. Mr. Kerr will host an information meeting via Google Meet on Wednesday (September 2) at 3:45pm.     Interested in playing girls basketball this year?   We will start up fall workouts on September 8th from 4:00-5:45!  Any girl interested in playing is welcome, but you must be registered on 8to18.  Email Coach Ostling with any questions at ostlingcm@unit5.org

    The Normal West Boys Basketball team will begin conducting their 20 Fall Contact Days starting Wednesday, September 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Those athletes who are interested in playing basketball are encouraged to attend as there will be offensive and defensive concepts, drills, and skills being taught for the upcoming season. Contact days will be every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. during the month of September.  All athletes must register via https://ncwhs.8to18.com/accounts/login  in order to participate.  For athletes who register, they should look under summer camps, it is labeled Boys Basketball Contact Day. Only athletes who DID NOT register for a sports summer camp/workout need to register.   Athletes are NOT allowed to participate if not registered.  Any in-season athlete is not allowed to participate in these contact days.  Athletes will need to arrive at the North Gym entrance between 6:00-6:25 p.m.  They will be asked a series of health questions and have their temperature checked.  Athletes should bring a mask, a water bottle, and a towel.  If you have any questions, email Coach Hafermann at hafermae@unit5.org.

    The Normal West Black Student Union is accepting new members for the 2020-2021 school year!  This organization is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors of all races.  The Normal West Black Student Union was created to promote student involvement, academic excellence, leadership, positivity, service, and unity among all races at Normal Community West High School.  The Normal West Black Student Union also serves as a platform for black students to express themselves and feel heard.   Furthermore, we strongly desire equality among all students at Normal West, and want to educate students, teachers, and staff on forgotten/unknown black culture and history. The Normal West Black Student Union has led Black History Month festivities at Normal West, participated in local rallies, hosted several donation drives, and much more.
