    Week of April 12th

    *Educators Rising meeting today (4/12) in room 1005 after school. It will be a meeting about making bulletin boards and there will be a friendly competition at the end. We hope to see you there!!

    *There will be an informational Dance Team meeting for parents, and students, April 16, from 6-7 pm, in the cafeteria at Normal West. This meeting is for students interested in trying out for the 2021-22 Normal West Dance Team. 

    *Normal West Dance will be offering a clinic for those interested in trying out for the dance team this spring.  The date is April 19th from 6:30-7:30 in the Multipurpose Room.  Cost is $10. Participants will learn technical moves required for tryouts along with some Hip Hop moves.  Please return the registration form located on the Athletics website along with payment. Masks are required along with social distancing.

    *Attention SENIORS: If you missed the first delivery… Troy Hall with Jostens will be here to deliver your 2021 Graduation Order on Friday, April 16, 2021 during lunch hours in the atrium.  Please see your invoice for all payment options on or before delivery date.  Any senior that still needs to turn in their cap and gown order, this will be the last day to turn in your order. Any student may place an order for a letter jacket or class ring that day as well or use this as a service day to get your class ring repaired or resized. Contact Jostens if you have any questions.

    *Student Council applications for next school year are available!  '21-'22 StuCo Application

    *WE NEED YOUR HELP! Join us this THURSDAY, APRIL 15th at 3:45 pm to celebrate National Prevention Week and to bring positivity to our schools as we return to full in-person. We will be using colored chalk to create positive affirmations along the sidewalks leading to the school entrances. Only the first 50 to sign up will be able to participate, so complete the form below to secure your spot. All participants must wear a mask.  CHALK the WALK Signup Form

    *The Normal West Black Student Union is seeking Board Members for the 2021-2022 School Year.  Anyone is welcome to apply at this link:  Email if you have any questions.

    *The Normal West Black Student Union is collecting supplies to create Literacy Kits for McLean County Elementary School Students.  These kits can be used to promote reading and writing skills and prevent summer learning loss.  Many items can be purchased at Dollar Tree!  Contact Austin Feaman at (309) 846-2511 or for dropping off donations/questions. The supplies needed include:                                                                                ★Books for Grades K-5 ★Pencils           ★Flash Cards                ★Puzzles            ★Learning Games         ★Activity Books            ★Stickers          ★Notebooks

    *To celebrate National Poetry Month, and to take advantage of the shared features of poetry and art, Gallery West is offering all students and staff the opportunity to create their own redacted poetry. You may pick up hard copies of the poems in Gallery West, or find them online at the Gallery West website ( See Mr. Akyuz or Mr. Kerr.

    *April is National Poetry Month and your IMC is bursting at the seams with poetry! Whether you're an avid poetry reader or don't read poetry at all, your IMC invites you to try some of the great titles featured in our virtual poetry display! Stop by and check out any of the books on display for National Poetry Month, grab a poem from the "Poem in my Pocket" board to share with someone or try the Tic-Tac-Toe Library Challenge to win a prize!

    *April is Autism Acceptance Month! The IMC has several inspiring books to spread awareness and promote acceptance of individuals with autism. Be sure to stop by and check out one of these great reads!

    * Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarships applications available. For more information, please visit the Guidance office.
