Interested in putting some of your science, technology engineering and math skills to use?  Want to learn how to 3D print, compete in a STEM Competition or just come up with your own project?  Come to STEM Club starting this Thursday after school in 2002.  See Mr. Weber with any questions.

The following colleges will be visiting Normal West this week:  Lincoln College, Heartland Community College, Knox College, Millikin, Mizzou, Illinois Institute of Technology, Illinois College, and Tricoci University.   If you have any questions about how to visit with any of these schools, please contact the guidance office.

Attention Juniors:  It is time to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT This is a practice test for the SAT as well as a qualify test for potential National, State and Corporate scholarships.  This is for Juniors Only!  The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at NWCHS. PSAT registration has started and ends on 10/11/19 (late fee assessed from 9/20-10/11).  See the Counselor Website for Registration Information.

Do you like to dance?  Do you like to have fun?  Then dance club is for you.  Join this non-competitive group to learn new dances and familiar favorites.  Our first meeting (AKA dance party) will be Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 3:45-4:30 in the multipurpose room (1301).  See Mrs. Sharer-Barbee with questions.

For the month of September the IMC will be spotlighting books that have been challenged or banned in libraries across the United States. Banned Books Week is an annual event (typically the last week of September) that celebrates our freedom to read what we want to read. It spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools across America. Celebrate your FREEDOM to READ by checking out a challenged or banned book on display in the IMC!

Are you excited about positivity, acceptance, academic excellence, leadership, student involvement, and volunteering? Then join Normal West Black Student Union which welcomes students of all races, and wants to inform the whole school on black culture and history. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, September 19 in Room 105. Please see Dr. Caffey for more information and follow our Instagram @NormalWestBSU

Simply bring your lunch to the IMC office during your lunch hour. This is a great opportunity to meet new people with similar interests. See Mrs. Hafermann in the IMC for more details.

Do you enjoy being stress free?  Do you need time during your day to unwind?  Well buckle up buttercup, because in room 1008 Senorita Evans and Ms. Primo will be hosting a knitting and crocheting group from 3:35-4:30 on Thursdays starting September 19th.  The goal is to make hats to be donated to the Community Cancer Center in Normal, Illinois.  No previous knowledge of knitting or crocheting is required, and there will be snacks.  See you there!
