NCWHS Announcements – Monday, September 25th, 2023
Attention all West students! HoCo guest forms are NOW available in the main office! They are due back to your Assistant principal on September 29th at 3:30. These forms are for any NON West student to attend our dance.
*Please remember that they are due back to your assistant principal, fully completed, by September 29th at 3:30pm. No exceptions will be granted!!Come join in with wrestling preseason! Weight lifting Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:15-8:15am and Open Mats Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm. Anyone is welcome!!
Calling all Creative Writers! The Creative Writing Club's first meeting is September 27th from 4 to 5 in the IMC. We will have a guest speaker, local poet, Tate Lewis-Carroll, and there will be snacks and drinks provided. All are welcome to attend. Join our Google Classroom with the code lhjrkde. See Mrs. King or Ms. Ruff with any questions.
Art Club will meet on Tuesday, October 3rd from 3:30-4:30 in room 113.

REMINDER: All school handbook policies, specifically School Dress and Code of Conduct, still apply on all spirit week dress up days with the potential for school consequences being issued for any non-compliance to these policies.Normal West Black Student Union will host its first meeting on September 28th in Room 234A
PRIDE Club will have our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 27th in room 1008 until 4:30. See Señorita Evans or Mrs. Long with questions.
In celebration of Homecoming week, the annual Wildcat Volleyball game will be on Monday, October 2nd, starting at 6:30 with warmups just after 6pm in the big gym. Want to play on your class’s team? Signups are this week during lunch. The first 12 to sign up will make the team! Cost is $5 and can be paid with cash or Venmo the night of the game. To all Wildcats, kick off Homecoming week by watching your fellow ‘Cats compete for bragging rights and see whether the teacher team can hold their own against the top-class team! Class colors for the games are:
Freshman-- yellow Sophomore-- green Junior—red Senior—blueWant a study hall and don't already have one? You may request one by picking up a green drop form from the counseling office. You can only have one study hall per semester by dropping an elective class. The last day to request a study hall is Thursday September 28th.
Ewing Manor has a wedding during Homecoming (10/7). No on property photography that day.
Homecoming Tickets are now on sale - tickets are $11.50 and must be purchased online via Ticket Leap. You can scan the QR code or go to the Normal West Website and click the link on the Homecoming Ticket announcement. Please contact Mr. Franz with any questions. Don't forget, you MUST turn in the guest permission form by September 29th in order for your guest to attend. Just buying a ticket DOES NOT GUARANTEE that your guest can attend.
Looking for a way to create change in your school? Join Not in our School’s informational meeting on Tuesday, September 26th to become involved with your school. NOIS is a program that strives to create a safe and inclusive community for all students to thrive at West. We offer many opportunities to get community service hours and a way to help our community! We will meet from 3:35 to 4;15 in Ms. Hamler’s room, 112!
1st Annual Intercity Volleyball Supply Showdown has begun! Flyer LINK. Join us for the volleyball games scheduled at Normal West High School and bring your donation items or cash donations for the Humane Society. Donation items will be counted along with cash donations and the school with the most supplies/cash donations will win the showdown.
Attention Junior Powder Puff girls: We will be having a meeting Thursday, September 28th from 3:35-3:45 in Room 1005 to discuss upcoming powder puff practices and the game. We will have practice Monday, October 2nd and Tuesday, October 3rd from 3:45-5:15 next to the Champion Fields Parking Lot. Please make the necessary arrangements at work. Remember, you need to be at all of the meetings/practices to be eligible to play in the game Wednesday, October 4th. Please see Mr. Klokkenga for your permission slip and please bring it completed to the September 28th meeting. Any questions, see Mr. Klokkenga.
