Welcome to 2nd grade at Prairieland! I'm sure we'll get to know each other better throughout the year, but here is a little about myself...
I was born and raised in Bloomington/Normal. I graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2000 and continued my education at Illinois Wesleyan University where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies in 2004. I received my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. I consider myself a lifelong learner and look forward to learning from my students as much as they learn from me!
My very first job came 2 days before school began in 2004. I started that year teaching kindergarten at Brigham Elementary. I only spent one year there, but it was a wonderful learning experience! Following that I moved over to Prairieland where I taught kindergarten for 5 additional years. I "graduated" to 2nd grade in 2010 and have remained teaching in this grade since!
I have a lot of things I love...1) My family 2) Teaching 3) Reading--I diagnosed myself with the "book disease" 4) Going to sporting events 5) Warm weather 6) the color PINK 7) and of course, the beloved Chicago Cubs!
Let's have the best year!
