I am a reading specialist at Cedar Ridge Elementary.  I have been teaching since 2005.  I grew up in Chillicothe, IL and came to Bloomington to attend Illinois State University.  I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education and began teaching as a reading specialist and then received my master’s degree in Reading from ISU in 2011. In 2012 I completed Reading Recovery training, to become a certified Reading Recovery teacher. I enjoy teaching young children how to read and I also enjoy working with older children to refine and improve their reading skills. 

I am married and we have a daughter and a dog.  In my free time,I like to read, and spend time with my family. My husband and I are huge Alabama football fans, so we spend Saturdays in the fall cheering on our team, Roll Tide!  I look forward to working with your child this school year!
