I am a reading specialist at Cedar Ridge Elementary.  I have been teaching since 2001.  I grew up in Peru, IL and came to Bloomington to attend Illinois State University.  I graduated in 2001 and began teaching and then received my master’s degree from ISU in 2006.  In 2011 I completed Reading Recovery training to become a certified Reading Recovery Teacher.  The following year I completed training for Descubriendo la Lectura (Reading Recovery in Spanish) and am now a certified Descubriendo la Lectura Teacher.  I enjoy teaching young children how to read and I also enjoy working with older children to refine and improve their reading skills. 

I am married and we have 3 daughters and a dog.  In my free time, I like to cook/bake, spend time with my family, and I enjoy interior decorating.  I look forward to working with your child this school year!
