About MeWelcome! My name is Melissa (Missi) Adams. I love learning with young children and I am truely blessed to do just that at Sugar Creek Elementary. I teach an Early Learning Class where we spend each day exploring with all of our senses, realizing we can do things "all by myself", and learning important concepts for life. I have been an educator all of my life, my passion for teaching began when I was a young girl. For the majority of my teaching experience I have enjoyed teaching and supporting Early Learning programs. I have also been fortunate to be a Program Supervisor for special education, College Supervisor for teacher canidates, (Consult Teacher) and I even enjoyed a number of years teaching Jr. High.I am a life-long learner and hope for each one of my students to have that desire as well. I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction - Early Childhood Education, and an Administrative Supervision Endorsement for Special Education, all of my Degrees were accomplished at Illinois State University.I have two fabulous boys, who are grown and each recently married, two absolutely delightful daughter-in-laws, and three adorable grand-dogs. They live close to Kevin & I and we are able to do many activities together. When I am not at school I spend as much time as I can doing outdoor activities, riding one of my many bikes, running, swimming, reading, and traveling. I also spend time supporting our local Tri-Shark Triathlon Club and Lake Run Club.I strive to live each day to the fullest and to share that with my students. I look forward to an active and fun school year!!
