• About Me

Welcome!  My name is Melissa (Missi) Adams.  I love learning with young children and I am truely blessed to do just that at Sugar Creek Elementary.  I teach an Early Learning Class where we spend each day exploring with all of our senses, realizing we can do things "all by myself", and learning important concepts for life.  I have been an educator all of my life, my passion for teaching began when I was a young girl. For the majority of my teaching experience I have enjoyed teaching and supporting Early Learning programs.  I have also been fortunate to be a Program Supervisor for special education, College Supervisor for teacher canidates, (Consult Teacher) and I even enjoyed a number of years teaching Jr. High.

I am a life-long learner and hope for each one of my students to have that desire as well.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction - Early Childhood Education, and an Administrative Supervision Endorsement for Special Education, all of my Degrees were accomplished at Illinois State University.

I have two fabulous boys, who are grown and each recently married, two absolutely delightful daughter-in-laws, and three adorable grand-dogs.  They live close to Kevin & I and we are able to do many activities together.  When I am not at school I spend as much time as I can doing outdoor activities, riding one of my many bikes, running, swimming, reading, and traveling.  I also spend time supporting our local Tri-Shark Triathlon Club and Lake Run Club.

I strive to live each day to the fullest and to share that with my students.  I look forward to an active and fun school year!!
