Normal West Announcements

Week of May 15th, 2017

Seniors:  Leave a memento of your time here at West – donate your old PE shirt to your PE teacher!  You won’t ever wear that shirt again anyway, right?  Give back – donate!!

There will be an informational meeting for all athletes interested in running cross country next fall on Tuesday, May 16 from 3:30 to 3:45 PM in the senior cafeteria.

Be sure to check the lost and found for your lost items before the end of school.  All items will be donated at the end of the year.

Best Buddies: This week will be our last Best Buddies event of the year! We will meet Wednesday, May 17 at 3:30 and celebrate graduation. Make sure you talk to your buddy/peer this week! Updates are due before you leave school for the summer!

Seniors, did you attend Hudson Elementary and have Sue Powell as your Kindergarten teacher? She gave each of you a time capsule (Manila envelope) that was to be opened upon your high school graduation.  Please read it and spread the word to classmates at other schools.  Mrs. Powell still works in the district and can be emailed through the Unit5 staff directory. She would love to hear from you before you leave Unit 5.

Book club (or Booked for Breakfast) will have our last meeting of the year this Friday, May 19th. Breakfast provided!

Would you like to take home some great books to read this summer? You may check out up to 10 books to read over the summer! Books will be due back on Monday, August 28th - after we return to school!
Seniors need to return their textbooks directly to the IMC. All other students will return textbooks during their final exams.
Attention all Juniors:  Your senior year is fast approaching.  Let’s start it out right by getting up to date on all your vaccinations.  If you haven’t received your Meningitis Booster, do so as soon as possible.  You won’t be able to start school in August without it.  Turn documentation in to the nurse’s office ASAP!

May is Better Speech and Hearing Month!  Are you listening on your headphones at an appropriate level to keep your hearing safe?
