NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING APPLICATION FOR WAIVER
OR MODIFICATION OF MANDATES WITHIN THE SCHOOL CODE AND/OR

ADMINISTRATIVE RULES OR REGULATIONS

Notice is hereby given in accordance with 105 ILCS 5/2-3.25g that on
Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., a public hearing will be held by
the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 5, McLean and
Woodford Counties, Illinois (a/k/a McLean County Unit School District No. 5), at
Normal Community West High School, 501 N. Parkside Rd., Normal, Illinois, to
discuss the District’s application for waiver or modification of Section 10-19.05(d)
of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-19.05(d)) allowing the District to schedule
two full day school improvement days each school year without students in
attendance, rather than four partial day school improvement days in which
students attend only three clock hours. All interested persons are invited to
attend this public meeting. Any interested person who desires to make public
comment must sign in on a form to be provided by the Board of Education at the
hearing and provide his or her name prior to making the public comment.
