• These are the courses I will be teaching:
     
    Ceramics/Sculpture I is a studio based class in which students create relief and free standing sculptures. We work in earthen clay, plaster, polymer clay, paper, metal. They will use the following techniques: modeled, assemblage, slab, coil, pinch.  Students will learn about various art careers.  It is a one semester course.
     
    Ceramics/Sculpture II is a studio based class in which students create relief and free standing sculptures.  They produce functional and nonfunctional pieces.  They will use the following techniques: carving, assemblage, modeled, slab, coil, pinch. This is a one semester course.
     
    Crafts is a one semester course in which students create functional items.  They learn skills in jewelry making, metal work, weaving, tiedye, batik, fabric design, bookmaking and printmaking. They learn about setting up a craft business.
     
    Photography is a one semester course in which students learn how to operate the manual film camera, process film and make print enlargements.  It is a prerequisite for Digital Photography.
     
    Drawing/Painting I students will learn proper shading techniques with grays and color.  They will learn composition and color theory when painting.
     
    Drawing/Painting II students will express themselves as they develop their drawing/painting skills.  They will use watercolor, acrylics and tempera.
