Greetings! Welcome to a little bit about me!
My name is Karen Showalter. My husband and I are both Unit 5 graduates. I went on to receive my Bachelor's in Science degree in communications and my Master's in Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
I have my national certification in speech-language pathology (CCC), my teaching certificate (PEL-teaching), and my Illinois Professional License to provide speech-language pathology services (IDPR, L). I am a member of our local speech-language organization (CISHA) and national organization (ASHA). In addition, I am involved with a local stuttering support group through Illinois State University.
My position currently consists of the majority of my week at Sugar Creek Elem. and a smaller portion of my week at Sugar Creek providing walk in speech services to preschool students. I really enjoy working with your children. Thank you for sharing them with me!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding speech-language development, your child's progress, etc., please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
