The Yearbook Club is all-inclusive in nature. Students do not need to qualify in any way; they can just join in the fun and hard work. We will meet on many Fridays but not every week.
The meetings will be in Mrs. Poulos's classroom in the J Pod.
Yearbook Clubbers take pictures for the yearbook, design and edit all of the pages of the book. Students who have their own log-ins will be allowed to edit their assigned pages outside of our meeting times. The first half of the book will be due in January and our final deadline will be in March. Our meetings will then end until the books arrive. Our final meeting will involve organizing the books and having our last pizza party (toward the end of May).
Communication and Calendar
We use a google classroom to communicate, so that our clubbers always know what our latest decisions and meetings involve (Code:38q3l61). Meetings are also in the daily announcements, which can be heard during school and read on the school website. We will start using the Remind App this year, so parents and students can sign up for reminders. Enter this number 81010 and then text this message @nvandeg.
Students do NOT need to report absences. Because we meet on Fridays, it is already expected that they will sometimes have other plans. Attendance does not affect membership in our club.
We have a three strikes rule, which means any student needing to be corrected for behavior three times will be excused from the club. We have major deadlines to meet and hundreds of students to represent in a positive light. This requires focus, hard work, and a lot of collaboration. Distractions and misbehavior will not be accepted.
