BreakfastStudents who eat school breakfast benefit nutritionally, have better attendance, perform better academically, and behave better in the classroom. Breakfast is served daily at all Unit 5 Schools beginning 25 minutes before the official school start time. A variety of choices are offered for breakfast and always include fresh fruits, whole grains, and low fat or fat-free milk.LunchSchool lunch provides a nutritionally balanced meal so students are ready to learn. Lunches for Unit 5 schools are planned with the goal of providing students with one-third of their Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for key nutrients and calories. By offering students a variety of foods, school lunch promotes good nutrition habits. For information on lunch meal times, contact your child's school or visit the school's web site.
