NCWHS Announcements – Monday, February 27th, 2023
3.1415926535…. Want a chance to win a pie and a gift card for Pi Day?! Enter our pi day competition and recite the most digits of pi to win. Talk to your math teacher or find Mrs. Root in room 204 for more details. Last day to qualify is March 10th.
Best Buddies will meet on Tuesday, March 14th from 3:30-4:30 pm in the Senior Cafe. If you are unable to attend, email Ms. Lueschen or Ms. Geiselman.
If you have an NCWHS teacher or staff member who you believe deserves some recognition, here is your chance to give them a shout-out! Look for the nominations form that is linked below every couple of weeks during this semester to nominate a teacher or staff member you think exhibits "kat-itude." The link is HERE, so click on it to nominate a deserving staff member for this cycle's contest! Please have your nomination in by noon on Tuesday, February 28!
This week is Read Across America -- a time to celebrate the joy of reading books that we can see ourselves in as well as books that allow us to see a world or lived experiences that may be different from ours. Each day, your IMC will post a different #hashtag and book related prompt to the IMC Google Classroom (code: goi3hyv). Simply fill out the Google form with your response for your chance to win a daily prize!
March is Women’s History Month, and the IMC has some inspirational titles on display for you to check out! Celebrate the strong, smart, amazing women in your life and pick up one of these fantastic reads! While you're here, try answering the daily Women's History Month trivia!

Congratulations to Ortavie Nlandu! Ortavie is February's winner of Read an Abe, Win an Abe! Ortavie read Almost American Girl by Robin Ha. She shared "It's an amazing book that shows what it's like being an ethnic girl in a foreign country and feeling like you don't fit in." Be sure to stop by to check out this year's Lincoln book award nominees!

betabrain is back! This fun, free STEM competition will be held on Friday, March 3 from 6-8pm at Kingsley Junior High. The theme this year is Book Scavenger. Come challenge your puzzle solving abilities! Get a group of friends together and get registered at unit5.org/betabrain
