• NCWHS Announcements – Monday, October 3, 2022

Attention sophomores! It’s that time of year. The sophomore parking lottery! If you are a sophomore and interested in obtaining a parking pass, please stop by the main office and give your name to Mrs. Bach at the front desk. To be eligible for the lottery, you MUST have a current driver’s license. If you are selected for a spot, you will be notified via email, so please make sure to be checking your Unit 5 email. Students who are selected for a spot MUST BRING THEIR MONEY WITHIN 1 week of receiving the email, or your spot may be forfeited. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Bach or Ms. Taylor.

Normal West PRIDE and Not in Our School will have a joint meeting this Wednesday October 5th after school in room 1008.

D&D Club will meet after school this Wednesday, from 3:30 to 4:30, in the IMC for D&D Academy. This meeting is structured for newer players to learn more about what D&D is and how it works, but anyone is welcome to attend!

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th-October 15th), the IMC has some amazing books on display that celebrate Latinx heritage, culture, and identity. Check out one of these great books today!

Best Buddies will have our first official event on Tuesday, October 4 in the senior cafe from 3:30-4:30! This is our initial match party so it is important that everyone attends. Please let Ms. Lueschen or Mrs. Peterson know if you cannot attend.

JUNIORS: Registration is open for the PSAT / NMSQT exam that will be on Wednesday, October 12. Please see the Counseling Office website, Infinite Campus messages or Class of 2024 google classroom for information and the link to register.

The speech team is getting ready to start their season.  If you like acting, reading or speaking in public, this might be the team for you.  You can attend one of two informational meetings this week.  The first meeting will be Thursday, 10/6 after school at 3:40; the second meeting will be Friday, 10/7 before school at 8:00.  Both meetings will be held in room 136.  This is a great way to speak out and share your voice on things that are important to you - we hope to see you there!

The Normal West High School Yard Signs Web Store just launched! We are offering Class of 2023 and generic Normal West Wildcat signs this year. The store is only open for a limited time. You must order by Sunday, October 16th. The signs will be shipped directly to Normal West High School and you will receive pick up information 7-10 days after the store closes (expect an email the week of October 24th).

Reminders about Student IDs: You will need your student ID for lots of things to help with your experience at Normal West.  Please have your IDs when going to the guidance office, Nurse's office and getting on and off the buses for school and for athletic or extracurricular trips.  Also, remember you can take a picture of your ID and keep it on your phone to use in our lunch lines for the cafe workers to scan for purchases.  If you don't have an ID or are missing a picture on your ID, please stop by the IMC to have another ID made for you.

Thanks for helping with this as it makes things run more smoothly at Normal West!

Eat to support Boys Soccer at the Burger Joint on October 7th.   Thanks for your help!

An additional tryout will be held for the Normal West Dance Team. The tryout for the competitive dance team will be Oct. 24 from 4-7. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact:
    Coach Weakly
