    Hello Y-Team!

First, we hope you are all healthy and safe!

We are definitely in the midst of times that we have not experienced before, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding as we work with our district. We wanted to send you all a note and let you know that during these days that have been established by Governor Pritzker as Act of God days, we will NOT be sending out any assignments or work for our students to complete. As things change, District Administration will keep in touch with you all with further information.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone upon our return! Here is information our district and community have shared for resources for families during these times:

“Unit 5 is committed to ensuring that our families continue to receive resources during this extended school closure due to COVID-19. Though all Unit 5 schools will be closed, cold breakfast and sack lunch “Grab and Go” meals will be made available to students in need.

Meals will be available on Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 20, and Monday, March 30 at five centralized sites. Meals will NOT be available during our planned Spring Break, the week of March 23.

Parents, guardians, and students can pick up the meals. All that is needed to receive a “Grab and Go” meal is a student’s name, grade, and school. The child does not need to be present.

We ask all families to participate in the following survey to help us know how many meals to prepare. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BK6RN58

    Pick-up times at all locations:

    Tuesday, March 17 -Friday, March 20 – 9 to 11 AM

    Monday, March 30 – 9 to 11 AM

    Locations:

Cedar Ridge Elementary, 2808 Breezewood Blvd., Bloomington

Kingsley Junior High, 303 Kingsley St., Normal

Sugar Creek Elementary, 200 N Towanda Ave, Normal

Pepper Ridge Elementary, 2602 Danbury Drive, Bloomington

Fairview Elementary School, 416 Fairview St., Normal

We understand this is a challenging situation for our families. If you are unable to access food for your student, please contact your school principal and we will work to connect you with services.”

In addition to the U5 food resources, there are some community resources that can be located from the image below .

    Best Regards,

    Y-Team Teachers
