  • Image of Eagle Head ONE-TO-ONE INFORMATION FOR 2018-19
Students in grades 6-12 will be in a one-to-one digital environment and will be required to have a laptop or digital device that meets the district minimum requirements. Students will be using their device to complete tasks/activities for class (typing papers, creating presentations, responding to teacher prompts, accessing online textbooks) as well as for taking online assessments (MAP, PARCC).
Option 1 - Rent a device from the district. Renting from the district will include a manufacturer's warranty, technology support for hardware and internet/applications. Students will also receive another device to use if their current one requires repair. All devices will also carry accidental damage and theft coverage. Damage fees will still be assessed for vandalism/negligence to the district owned machine. Web traffic on district rented devices will be filtered both on campus and in the home environment.

    Option 2
    - Bring your own device (family owned device) to use each day at school. For families selecting the option to bring your own device (BYOD), there will be no technology support provided by the district other than internet connectivity assistance to the Unit 5 wireless network. When the device is using our network, we employ firewall and web filtering technology. Minimum district requirements are a screen size of 9.5 inches, resolution of 1024x768 and a wireless or wired keyboard. A Chromebook device is strongly recommended.
6th grade - $75.00 rental fee Includes warranty and accidental repairs, theft coverage and all other Unit 5 device rental benefits. No ownership option.
7th grade - $75.00 rental fee Includes warranty and accidental repairs, theft coverage and all other Unit 5 device rental benefits. No ownership option.
8th grade - $100.00 annual rental fee for three years (6th – 8th, $300 total rental fees paid); device is owned after 8th grade year. Includes warranty and accidental repairs, theft coverage and all other Unit 5 device rental benefits through 8th grade.
    ● Free & reduced status - if the rental fee is reduced based on free or reduced status, there is no ownership option unless the family chooses to pay the fee difference or purchase.
