Summer Music Opportunity
Summer Music for Unit 5 Instrumentalists will be June 5th-9th @ Kingsley Jr. High School. Orchestra students grades 5th-8th and Band students grades 5th-7th can participate. Each day will include small group instruction, large ensembles and a performance. Click here for additional information.
My Stop is a web-based application available to all Unit 5 parents to access live bus GPS information using a smartphone, tablet or computer and securely view the current location of their child’s bus on routes. The system also provides the school bus’s estimated time of arrival at your child’s bus stop. For directions, CLICK HERE.
Citizens Advisory Council
The district is going to see some exciting changes with CAC this year. The group will no longer be preparing research projects for the Board and instead will become a focus group to gather feedback about the District. The CAC will meet 6 times this school year and there will be no outside work required. The district is hopeful this change will help encourage participation. If you believe that you'd be interested in representing EJHS on this council, please contact Mr. Chapman via email - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unit 5 has been involved with Vision 20/20, which is a student‐centered vision for the future of education in Illinois. It focuses on four policy priorities: highly effective educators, 21st century learning, shared accountability, and equitable and adequate funding. To learn more about Vision 20/20, CLICK HERE.
Eighth grade students in Ms. Dial's bilingual tutorial come in and work hard everyday to get their homework done. Integers, journal entries, and mousetrap catapult planning are just part of what these students have taken on so far.
A huge congratulations to Eagle Nation school librarian Mrs. Glatt, for being named the 2016 School Librarian of the Year by the Illinois School Library Media Association (ISLMA)!
This award recognizes outstanding service and leadership contributions to the organization and the school library profession during the previous school calendar year.
