  • Band Exploration Night

    4th Grade Families,

If your student is interested in playing an instrument next school year, please visit www.unit5.org/explorationnight for information on how to register. We need all families interested in participating to sign up for the program by May 22. We will hold our instrument exploration night at the start of the school year for you to help your student find an instrument to play in either the band or orchestra program.
We are looking forward to welcoming our incoming 5th graders to our outstanding Unit 5 instrumental music program! If you have any questions, please contact Ryan Budzinski at budzinsr@unit5.org or Jenn Bolton at boltonj@unit5.org

  • Summer Camp from Compassion Center for the Arts

Our summer arts camp is an opportunity for kids to get out of the house Monday-Friday, 8:30- 12:30. We even feed them lunch!
The dates, of course, are obviously tentative, depending on when the stay-at-home orders are lifted by Governor Pritzker. If the June dates don't work, we will move all 4 camp weeks to July, following Independence Day weekend.
This will be our second year of arts camp. It was very successful last summer. Each day of the week kids had hands-on classes in music, dance, theatre, and arts/crafts. We had 52 kids between the ages of 4 and 15 with very diverse demographics. The kids are divided by age group and rotate between classes which are modified by the teacher in each subject area. We hope to have at least 80 campers this year. Tuition costs vary depending on family income and is based on the Illinois free & reduced lunch program scale.
