  • Hello! My name is Heather Damery and I am one of the kindergarten teachers at Grove Elementary. I was born and raised in Normal, IL and am a product of Unit 5 Schools, attending Oakdale Elementary, Parkside Junior High, and Normal Community High School.  I received a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and  my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University.

     
    I started my teaching career at Bent Elementary in District 87 in Bloomington, IL teaching first grade for three years.  I moved to Unit 5 when Grove Elementary was built and opened in 2001.  I have taught kindergarten  and fifth grade at Grove.  I enjoy different aspects of each grade level because I love learning!
     
    My husband works at State Farm, and we have two daughters who keep us busy!  Outside of school, I enjoy attending my children's activities, cheering on the Fighting Illini, traveling, boating, spending time with family and friends, and eating an occational ice cream treat!
