Reporting Absences - We would like to first say thank you for helping us keep our Hoose Hawks safe through mask wearing, hand washing, and keeping students home if they have any symptoms. If your child does have symptoms, please be sure to call the Main Office (557-4414) to report the absence. Our School Nurse may follow up with families to help determine the best course of action. Thank you.
Dress Code - A quick reminder about student dress code is below (copied from the Elementary Student Handbook). Please be sure to review these guidelines:
Students are expected to wear clothing in a neat, clean, and well-fitting manner while on school property and/or in attendance at school sponsored activities. Students are to use discretion in their dress and are not permitted to wear apparel that causes a substantial disruption in the school environment. Students' dress and grooming must not disrupt the educational process, interfere with the maintenance of a positive teaching/learning climate, or compromise reasonable standards of health, safety, and decency.
- Student dress (including accessories) may not advertise, promote, or picture alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, violent behavior, or other inappropriate images.
- Student dress (including accessories) may not display lewd, vulgar, obscene, or offensive language or symbols, including gang symbols.
- Hats, coats, bandannas, sweat bands, and sun glasses may not be worn in the building during the school day.
- Hair styles, dress, and accessories that pose a safety hazard are not permitted in the shop, laboratories, or during physical education.
- Clothing which fails to adequately cover the body will not be permitted.
- The length of shorts or skirts must be appropriate for the school environment.
- Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Slippers and shoes with wheels are prohibited. • If there is any doubt about dress and appearance, the building principal will make the final decision.
- Student whose dress causes a substantial disruption of the orderly process of school functions or endangers the health or safety of the student, other students, staff or others may be subject to discipline.
If students have any questions regarding acceptability of a particular item of clothing, check with the principal before wearing the items to school.
Masks - Masks are required for all students, staff, visitors, parents, volunteers, and anyone entering the building - including outside organizations that may use the buildings on the weekend. Our students have done a tremendous job so far with mask wearing and we appreciate your support as we do everything we can to keep our kids safe and in school.
Attendance - Attendance is one of the most important components of student achievement. Please remember that learning begins at 7:45 each morning. Students arriving after 7:45 may be marked tardy. We appreciate your help as we get students back in to the in-person routines of school.
Picture Day - September 21st will be our Hoose Hawk Picture Day. Please be sure to mark your calendars. There will be a picture retake/make-up day in October as well.

PLC teams begin meeting at 7:15 am. Please be sure to use the PLC Recording Document as this will be submitted in December and May for CPDUs for the teams.
Hoose-n-Anny - On October 8th, in the afternoon, our PTO hosts a Fall Festival of games and fun for our students called Hoose-n-Anny. Each student is asked to wear Western wear (cowboy/cowgirl) attire. The games and fun activities will be adult led, outdoors. Be sure to be on the lookout for PTO volunteer opportunities related to Hoose-n-Anny over the next few weeks.
Hoose Website - We will continuously update our website throughout the year and add important and pertinent information for our families to use. We also want the website to be a resource and help make connections to the community. The site will be ever-developing, but please use it to help plan referencing our calendar, look for new items added, volunteer requirements, etc.
