Meet Mr. Walker

 

Mr. Walker was raised in Chicago, IL along with seven other siblings. Being the third oldest child of eight, and the oldest male, Mr. Walker learned how to be responsible at a young age. While attending Percy L. Julian high school, in Chicago, Mr. Walker was selected as a Golden Apple Scholar. The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program recruits and prepares bright and talented high school graduates who represent a rich ethnic diversity for successful teaching careers in schools throughout Illinois.

Upon graduating high school, Mr. Walker immediately attended Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL.  After two years at Trinity, Mr. Walker decided to finish his quest for teaching at Illinois State University.  Mr. Walker graduated from ISU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and promptly began teaching in Unit 5.  Mr. Walker is currently seeking his Master's Degree in Administration. Mr. Walker started his professional debut as a Title One Teacher and later transition into the classroom as a fifth grade teacher in Falconland.  Mr. Walker enjoys his teaching environment at Fairview Elementary. At Fairview, Mr. Walker takes pleasure in helping students “take flight”.
