assignments

Math You could easily make FLASH CARDS to help reinforce these skills.

LINKS to LEARN!

  • FLASH CARDS (Addition and Subtraction fact practice!  Try it...How did you like it?)

First graders are asked to continue to practice their math facts in addition and subtraction.  Also, count money every chance you get, especially when your child wants to buy something that only takes a little change to buy.  How powerful would that be to tell you child, you can only buy it if you can count out the exact change?  A little motivation never hurts!

Social Studies We are going to start studying maps and how to use them to travel.  We will learn how to use a map key.
Science We are learning about energy, heat, battery, shadow, electricity and fuel.
Language Arts We need to continue to work on our reading and our writing.  Please do as much of this at home as possible.  Any free time would be a great opportunity to read.  Also, work on writing the letters of the alphabet.  I love to see the improvements that are being made.  Great Job!!

BOOK-IT is finished...I sent the invitations out this past week.  Congratulations to all the winners of the FREE MYSTERY LUNCH!  I am really proud of their accomplishments!  Great job!

Spelling Test on Friday!  Practice the words 5 - 10 minutes a night.  Try to write them in sentences, play Cheetah.  Here is an idea of how to use the spelling words for the week as well as the spelling list.
