Behavior Plan for Towanda Elementary

We are looking forward to a successful year at Towanda Elementary School.  We believe that one of the most essential ingredients for a positive learning environment is appropriate student behavior.  We also believe that the responsibility for appropriate student behavior rests primarily with the student and the parent/guardian, with support from the school staff.

In an effort to maintain high standards of student conduct, both within and outside of the classroom, our staff has developed a set of expectations for the students of Towanda.  It is our hope that everyone will work together to make this a positive year for the students and provide them with opportunities to develop appropriate behavior habits, which will in turn help with study and organizational skills.

All Students Are Expected To:

1.      Be Respectful

2.      Be Responsible

3.      Be Safe

Several different behaviors are included within each of the three expectations, including, but not limited to:

*Showing respect and manners for all people

*Using appropriate language and gestures

*Keeping hands, feet, and objects to one’s self

*Remaining quiet in the hallways

*Walking at all times

*Following directions the first time

*Remaining in assigned area unless given permission to be elsewhere

*Respecting all property

*Not chewing gum

*Making individual responsible choices
