Field Trip Information

Throughout the year in first grade we will be going on various field trips. We will be using Unit 5 buses, city buses and walking as our forms of transportation. We will be visiting the Jones' Country Garden in October. We will be going to the Normal Public Library in December. We will also be attending a workshop on Ben Franklin at the Children's Discovery Museum in the spring. More information will be sent home as each trip approaches.

 

Jones' Country Gardens

Who: 1st Grade

When:

How: School Bus

What to Bring: $3.00 per student. Please send this to school by ___________ Each child will need to bring his/her OWN SACK LUNCH & DRINK. All items MUST be disposable *no glass, silverware or lunchboxes*

We will be going on a hayrack ride to the pumpkin field and choosing a pumpkin. We will go through a petting zoo. We will be outside for most of the day, please dress your child appropriately.

 

 

 

Normal Public Library

Who: 1ST

When:

How: City Bus

What to Bring: 6 quarters per student (the city bus will cost $0.75 each way).

With the holiday season upon us, our class has decided to donate books to less fortunate children, instead of a gift exchange among students. The Star Literacy Program and Mid-State Reading Council sponsor this program.  If you wish, please send a book to school by ________.  Our class will deliver them to the Normal Public Library on that afternoon.

We will be eating lunch at Hoose.

 

Children's Discovery Museum

Who: 1ST

When:

How: School Bus

What to Send: $2 for the museum & a sack lunch to be eaten in our room

**We will not be back at Hoose for our lunch hour**

We will be spending time in the museum learning about Benjamin Franklin and many of his inventions. We will be attending a presentation about Ben Franklin. We will also have time to play in the other parts of the museum.
