Serving Unit 5 and El Paso-Gridley District 11

Mackinaw Valley Special Education Services
 within Unit #5 School Buildings:

Special education disability categories:  Autism, Emotional/Behavioral Disordered, Cognitively Impaired (EMD/TMD), Hearing Impaired, Learning Disabled, Multiply Impaired, Orthopedically Impaired, Other Health Impaired, Speech & Language, Traumatic Brain Injured, Visually Impaired.
 
     Resource Services:  For students with a mild to moderate degree of disability who are in need of special services for less than 50% of their day.
 
     Instructional Services:  For students with a moderate to severe degree of disability who are in need of special services for more than 50% of their day.

    Students identified as Autistic, Other Health Impaired, and Traumatic Brain Injured may be served in any building within the district under one of the other disability categories.

Cluster Sites: Students whose level of disability require that some or all instruction be offered in a self-contained special education setting in a general education building with significant amounts of co-teaching support may require one of the following programs:

	Early Childhood Education: ECE classrooms are located at Colene Hoose, and Fox Creek.
	Early Intervention:  EI classrooms are located at Pepper Ridge and Prairieland.
	Cognitively Impaired: CI classrooms are located at Grove, Parkside, Parkside Junior High and Normal Community West High School.
	Instructional LD:  Instructional LD classrooms are located at Northpoint, Pepper Ridge, all Middle Schools, and both High Schools.
	Behavioral/Emotionally Disabled: BD classrooms are located at Colene Hoose, Chiddix Junior High, Normal Community High School and at Hammitt.
	Deaf/Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired:  Thomas Metcalf Laboratory School and University High School.
