Introduction
After reading The Pigman's Legacy and viewing the web
sites of New York in the other activities, you will have an opportunity
to select an electronic postcard and send it to your
teacher.
With your teacher, please review your school's
acceptable use policy for work on the Internet. Also, links to the web
often change. Tell your teacher when you find a poor link in this guide.
The Task
After reading The Pigman's Legacy and seeing the
various web sites in the other activities, you should have a fairly good
idea about the setting of the book. You will now write an electronic
postcard to your teacher describing the setting in the story.
The Process: Exploring the Web, Creating a
Product
- Post cards are small. There will not be a
lot of room to write.
- Write down on a piece of paper a sentences
that best describes your favorite setting in the book.
- Reread the sentence and correct spelling and
punctuation.
- Visit the Electric
postcard site.
- Pick the postcard you would like to send.
- Write a message to you teacher describing
the setting of The Pigman's Legacy in a way that your teacher will know you
are familar with the setting of this story.
