“How To”

Expository Paragraph Presentation

                                 Due  Date:

1.       Each child needs to choose a topic that s/he is familiar with, can explain, and is excited about.

2.      Students are to then make a list of the steps to making / doing the topic chosen.

-Title :  by:  ___________

-Materials needed

-Step 1

Step 2 – the last step

(Please follow Mrs. Schumacher’s example in class.)

3.      Next, students will put these steps into an expository paragraph.  The first paragraph will be the introductory paragraph and excite the readers about the topic that is going to be presented.  The second paragraph will include the materials needed.  The third paragraph will discuss the steps to completing the project and finally, write a good conclusion to the whole project.

4.      Make sure to have your steps and paragraph checked over for proper spelling, capitalization, indentation, and punctuation.  Make sure you check over the rubric and ask for help if you need it.

5.     Finally, students will bring in all of the items in order to “teach” us the how to project.  Students may use their final paper to refer to when teaching us, but should have the steps pretty well organized.  More points will be awarded for a better, memorized speech.
