There are several places on the web to find and see examples of Internet-Based Lessons and Projects.  Listed below are some of those places for you to go and look.

General

Online Correspondence : Keypals, Greeting Requests, Learning Circles and Group Keypals, Impersonations, Electronic Guests/Mentors/Experts

Information Gathering : requires students to reach goals or solve problems using the Internet as a tool

Problem Solving and Competitions : can be found in many forms and can be motivating and challenging for students

WebQuests : an Internet Project in which some or all of the information that students interact with comes from the web - can be short or long-term

Online Conferencing : requires students to use online chats or audio/video conferencing - usually require more planning, are harder to pull off, and difficult with scheduling online sessions - there are also privacy and bandwidth issues to deal with here.
