What
in the world might you use Publisher for?
Especially in the education world we often spend a lot
of time on HOW to do things with technology, while never
addressing the question of WHY we do things with
technology. Why might you want to learn and use
Publisher? It is also important to consider
the audience and purpose as you consider how and why you
might use this application.
Ask yourself a couple questions. These will help
determine how you use this application »
1. What is the purpose of the publication?
2. Who is the audience you are targeting?
Then you may want to consider a couple of things as to
why you might choose to use Publisher »
1. It provides you with several ready to use templates
to cut down on your production time.
2. It is a relatively easy to learn application, but
powerful enough that it can "grow" with you.
3. It is an application that you can use with, and
teach, your students to use as well. Learning it
yourself will give you one more tool to empower your
students with.
4. As a desktop publishing program it goes beyond a word
processor in its ability to help you create dynamic and
professional publications.
5. It gives you powerful tools for communicating with
parents, communicating with other professionals, and for
creating items for your classroom. |
