The Chipmunk
The chipmunk is a
fascinating animal. It lives in a unique habitat, has adapted many
survival skills, and has other interesting qualities.
The chipmunk lives in a
unique habitat. Most chipmunks live in the forests and woods. They
also live in underground burrows. Chipmunks are even found at the
edges of deserts.
The chipmunk has many adaptations
that help it survive. It goes up trees. It can swim away from
predators. It can go to its home which is an underground burrow.
There are other neat
facts that make the chipmunk a special animal. The chipmunk has a
black stripe on its back and it has brown fur. The chipmunk can
store nuts in its cheeks. It can go into “crazy mode” if there is a
predator!
The
chipmunk is quite an animal. Its habitat and adaptations make it
unique. Can you believe the chipmunk can be a pet?
MY FAMILY
My name is Lewie
and I am 8 years old. I live with my Mom, Dad, and 16-year-old
sister in Normal, Illinois. We have lived here for 7 years. We
moved from North Carolina. I also have a dog named Fly. My family
likes having fun!
My Dad loves to
fish. My Mom and sister love to shop! I enjoy reading, playing
with friends, and playing video games. I also like throwing the
Frisbee to Fly. As a family we love cooking on the grill and taking
trips.
We have visited
zoos, aquariums, museums, and many different beaches. On some
weekends, we walk down Constitution Trail. My family also enjoys
boat rides and visiting family in Georgia, South Carolina, and
Alabama. We usually travel in July. During the summer we spend
some weekends in Chicago and St. Louis, Missouri.
Our favorite
month is December. My sister and I have birthdays in December!
Christmas is our favorite holiday. We also like December because of
the snow! My family goes to Georgia that day after Christmas. We
leave the snow in Illinois and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather
in Georgia!
How to Make Your Parents Buy You Something
If you want your parents to buy you
something, you have to tell them that you need something. The
materials needed are: your mouth, the truth, and a sprinkle of
“white lies”.
Tell them that you love them. Tell them that you will clean up
the house. Lie to them and hope you don’t get caught! Tell them
that you need something for school. That one always works! Ask for
an early Christmas present. You can ask for something at Halloween
and Thanksgiving. During the summer you can tell them that you miss
school and you are lonely and need something from the store. In
spring and autumn you can promise to have a good report card. A
good report card will always get you something!
