The technology education program here at Parkside is designed especially for the middle adolescent and provides the student with active learning situations and higher-order thinking skill development through practical problem solving experiences. The program addresses two principle tenets of early adolescent education: (1) help learners discover and explore personal interests, aptitudes and abilities; and (2) provide learners with experiences in technology.
Seventh Grade Technology Education
7th Grade Technology is an introductory course in which students are introduced
to the importance of technology and the principles used to develop, produce, and
use technology systems. The students develop both individual and group abilities
needed to participate in society. Students are challenged to gain knowledge
through creative problem solving experiences. Students will benefit by
integrating math, science, and language arts into practical applications.
Eighth Grade Advanced
Technology Education
8th Grade Technology Education is an advanced course in which students expand
knowledge of technology and principles used to develop, produce, and use
technology systems. The students develop both individual and group abilities
needed to participate in and contribute to society. Students are challenged to
enhance their knowledge through creative problem solving experiences.
