PJHS Python Council2007-2008 Council Members Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. It is important that you attend each meeting so you can be up to date on what is happening on council. What does it mean to be a member of Python Council?
You will
learn and begin to demonstrate leadership skills.
You will
have a voice in selecting and implementing PJHS activities.
You will
be a driving force behind PJHS improvements.
You will
become involved in the community through service projects.
You will
be given the opportunity to work with students from other schools throughout the
state.
You will
have the opportunity to run for Executive Board.
You will
be involved in some of the most exciting activities at PJHS.
Election Information· Members who served in 6th and 7th grade will continue to be on Python Council as a 7th and 8th grader if they actively participated throughout the year. · Each team will have 2 new representatives (7th and 8th grade teams may end up with more reps due to returning council members).
Speeches – n You want your speech to have a big impact on students so that they will be convinced to vote for you. n Think of an interesting opening for your speech; one which will make students want to listen to you. n Don’t promise things you can’t deliver. n Convince students that you are the best person for the job. n Be specific. For example, don’t just say that you are a responsible person – tell what you have done that is evidence of the fact that you are responsible. n Tell students what they can expect from you if they elect you. · Voting will take place after speeches are given.
