You will serve as a communicator between Python Council and your team.

You will learn and begin to demonstrate leadership skills.

You will have a voice in selecting and implementing PJHS activities.

You will be a driving force behind PJHS improvements.

You will become involved in the community through service projects.

You will be given the opportunity to work with students from other schools throughout the state.

You will have the opportunity to run for Executive Board.

You will be involved in some of the most exciting activities at PJHS.

Election Information

·        Members who served in 6th and 7th grade will continue to be on Python Council as a 7th and 8th grader if they actively participated throughout the year.

·        Each team will have 2 new representatives (7th and 8th grade teams may end up with more reps due to returning council members).

  • Teachers will also have input during the selection process.

Speeches

n          You want your speech to have a big impact on students so that they will be convinced to vote for you.

n          Think of an interesting opening for your speech; one which will make students want to listen to you.

n          Don’t promise things you can’t deliver.

n          Convince students that you are the best person for the job.

n          Be specific.  For example, don’t just say that you are a responsible person – tell what you have done that is evidence of the fact that you are responsible.

n          Tell students what they can expect from you if they elect you.
