IMC Facilities

Circulation Desk:

All students must check in with the library staff at the circulation desk.  The circulation desk is staffed by library personnel.

Books:

The library has over 15,000 volumes.  Fiction books are filed on the shelf in alphabetical order by the first three letters of the author's last name.  The fiction section is located on the right wall when you enter the stacks.  Non-fiction books are assigned a catalog number (Dewey Decimal) and are located on the left wall as you enter the stacks.  These books are arranged by subject and are listed in the online catalog by subject, author, and title.  Most books circulate for three weeks and may be renewed.

Paperbacks:

Check out the large collection of fiction and non-fiction paperback books on the special racks located just inside the stack area.

Reference Books:

Reference books are located around the perimeter of the library.  These books are designated in the online catalog with an "R" proceeding the call number.  Reference books may be circulated overnight and must be returned before first hour the next morning.

Magazines / Newspapers:

The library subscribes to a wide variety of magazines.  Back issues of these magazines are available at the circulation desk, but must be used in the library.  Current newspapers are located in the magazine rack found at the end of the circulation desk.

Copy Machine:

A copy machine is available for student use at a nominal fee of $.10 per page.  The machine has the capability to enlarge and reduce copies.  The copy machine is located next to the circulation desk.  Ask the library staff for assistance.

Audio / Visual Materials:

The library owns over 500 VHS video tapes as well as a number of filmstrip kits.  These materials are available upon request at the circulation desk.  The online catalog lists these materials by title and subject.
