Coach Kintner attended Prairie Central High School in Fairbury Illinois where he was a four year varsity wrestler under Wrestling Hall Of Fame coach Joe Cliffe.  Coach Kintner received all conference honors each year and was selected as team captain in football and wrestling as a senior.

Coach Kintner is one of only 5 wrestlers to win more than 100 varsity matches in Prairie Central History.  He had the most wins in Prairie Central history when he graduated in 2002 with 116.

Coach Kintner went on to Heartland Community College where he earned his Associates Degree before transferring to Illinois State University Majoring in Physical Education.
