MEET THE TEACHERS

Mr. Burnett
“This is my 6th year of teaching
science at Parkside Junior High
Previously, I taught middle school science and math at Chester-East Lincoln and
Chiddix Junior High. I graduated
with a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University.
I live in Bloomington with my wife, Sara, who is the principal of
Tri-Valley Elementary School. In the
summertime, I enjoy fishing and playing golf.
I am looking forward to another great school year .”

“I will be teaching math for the 2009-2010 school year.
I moved to Bloomington/Normal eleven years ago to pursue my education at
Illinois State University.
After graduating with a marketing degree and working for a few years I realized
that teaching, especially math, was my passion.
I am originally from southern Illinois where I grew up in a very small
town of only seven hundred people.
I now live here in Bloomington with my dog Molly who is a seventy pound
Weimeraner that thinks she is a lap
dog. In my free time I like to
watch movies, catch a St. Louis Cardinals game, and play Guitar Hero and Rock
Band. I am looking forward to
meeting Parkside’s new eighth graders and especially the new J team.” |

Mr. Hawkins
“Welcome to the J-Team! My name is
Mr. Hawkins, and I am your 8th grade Social Studies teacher.
Our focus this year will be
studying U.S History from the late
1800’s to present
day. I am in my 15th
year as a teacher at Parkside Junior High School.
My wife is a school counselor at NCHS, and my stepson is a senior.
I’m also the proud dad of an
active four year old. I hope
you all are having a great summer , and I look forward to meeting you in the
fall of 2009 .”

Mrs. Wolf
“This is my third year of teaching and my first year at
Parkside.
I recently married a PE teacher, and we reside in
Normal .
My husband and I are both huge Cubs fans and enjoy watching
the games in our free time together.
I am really looking forward to starting at Parkside
with my new team and can’t wait to meet each of you in the fall! |
