K-Team
Students on the K-Team
participated in the annual Rebecca Caudill program sponsored by Mrs.
Coyle and Mrs. Vittitoe.
Each year a committee chooses 20 novels from ones nominated by
students in fourth through eighth grade.
Students who read at least three books on the list can vote
for their favorite. The
book that receives the most votes is awarded the Rebecca Caudill
award, an Illinois book award in honor of Illinois author, Rebecca
Caudill, and announced in March.
For the past 5 years, students on the K-Team have
participated. This year
57 students read at least three Caudill nominees, and 14 students
read ALL 20. Today the
students celebrated with a pizza party and voted on their favorite
novel. Great job to the
K-Team Pythons, Mrs. Coyle, and Mrs. Vittitoe!
