Supply List | All Star Friday | Outside Reading Log | Money System |
|
We are using a binder organizational system on the E-Team this year. Each student will need one zipper binder with six unlabeled dividers. We will label the dividers together at school during the first week of school.
The following is a list of additional supplies needed throughout the year for planned activities and projects:
Supplies to bring to be turned in on the first day of class: $6 for Geometry template (includes ruler and protractor) 2 boxes of tissues
Supplies to be kept by student until Thursday, August 23: *Teachers will check and label these items. Loose-leaf paper – two packages (unopened) Pencils Ballpoint pens – black or blue (erasable is GREAT!!!) EraserCompass ScissorsMarkers White school glueScientific calculator (TI-34 II preferred) Zipper pouch to hold supplies 1 box of colored pencils – set of 24 2 packages of index cards – 3 x 5
Students are expected to complete homework. We do not assign “busy” work. Homework is designed to enhance student learning. When a student is not completing homework, the student is not taking advantage of a learning opportunity. At the end of the week, students with all homework completed can participate in All Star Friday. This is a fun time for the students. Some weeks, we go outside (weather permitting) and play kickball or other outside activities. Other Fridays, we may have a “party room” where those students can listen to CD’s, have snacks, or just talk to friends. Students who have missing homework can get it completed before noon on Friday and still participate in All Star Friday. If
there is still homework missing after noon on Friday, that student will be in
the “Bull Pen.” In the Bull
Pen, students will work on missing homework.
They will not be allowed to talk other than to ask the supervising
teacher a question. Hopefully,
students will not want to be in the Bull Pen when their friends are having fun SO
THEY WILL GET THEIR HOMEWORK DONE ON
TIME! Outside Reading Logs are due each Monday with the minutes that were read for the previous week. The above link will take you to a printable template of the Outside Reading Log. Students receive money (play money) for cooperation and respect. This cash can be used for extra privileges, as well as special events such as the "Great Pumpkin Auction", the Winter Bazaar, Spring Break Auction, or the Beach Party Bash. By the same token, fines are assessed for inappropriate behavior.
