On Friday May 1st the middle school
orchestras performed at the IESA
Organizational Contest. At this contest the
PJHS Orchestras received straight Division I
ratings with the 7th grade receiving two
perfect scores!
8th Grade Orchestra was awarded the
best of the day award for orchestra.
The orchestra is directed by Kimberly
Martin-Boyd. This is an honor and
symbolizes their hard work.
Congratulations PJHS Honor Band!!!
They
have won top Honors at the band competition
this past
weekend in Ohio. The Honor Band traveled to
Sandusky Ohio to compete against several
other middle school and high school bands.
The Honor Band received top honors and a
superior rating. They did an outstanding
job!!! Congrats.
The PJHS Honor Band
qualified for State Band Competition
on
April 28. In competitions they received
a 1st place gold rating. Fourteen
junior high bands from Illinois qualified
and were there this past weekend. Only five
bands received a 1st place gold
division rating, and PJHS Honor Band was one
of them! They are the only Unit 5 junior
high band to qualify.
