Beyond the Books Gift
Donation
What brings a smile
to your child at Christmas--lights, cookies,
presents? Who brings that same excitement all
school year--their teacher!! If you're looking
for a perfect, yet meaningful, teacher
appreciation gift we can do your shopping.
The Beyond the Books Educational Foundation
invites you to send a donation to the Foundation
in honor of any Unit 5 or District 87 teacher or
staff member. Your donation will place that
teacher's name on the Foundation's Honor Roll.
We will then send your certificate, festively
wrapped, to your home just in time for your
child to give to their teacher. Lastly, our
Foundation will channel your donation into
grants for innovative classroom projects in both
District 87 and Unit 5.
You will bring smiles to many by giving a gift
with a future, and we all say "thank you".
Check the Unit # Website to download a form at

Dear Parents and
Guardians:
You are invited to
attend an informational meeting to learn more
about how your child can be involved in
pre-engineering courses during their high school
years at NCWHS. The meeting will be held
December 1st at Normal Community West
High School from 7:00 – 8:00pm in the senior
cafeteria.
Project Lead the
Way is a national organization whose mission is
to implement engineering courses at the high
school level in order to provide high school
students the necessary skills to be successful
when studying engineering at the university
level. We currently offer three PLTW
engineering classes at NCWHS and the opportunity
to take two more through the Bloomington ACC.
Expect more courses to be implemented at NCWHS
in the future. There are currently over 120
Normal West students involved in Project Lead
the Way classes.
