Unit 5 prides itself in offering quality professional
development opportunities to all educators. Educators are given
opportunities to attend conferences outside the district and/or
enroll in courses at Illinois State University. Within the
district educators may attend a variety of courses based on the
needs of its students and teachers.
New Guidelines: Beginning fall of 2008 there is a
limit of one facilitator per Action Research PDA. Also all Action
Research will be limited to 6 hours. All other PDAs
under 30 participants will have a limit of one instructor. PDAs with
more than 30 participants may have two instructors if requested.
Class Cancellation: Classes must have a minimum of 15
participants registered in order to be offered. Classes with fewer than
15 participants will be canceled.
Reminder of the Attendance Policy: Immediately after you
enroll on-line you will see a confirmation page. This means that your
registration was completed correctly. This does NOT confirm your spot
in the class. If there is a space for you in the class, you will
receive a confirmation e-mail about 3 weeks prior to the first
class date that includes class name and number, dates and times of class
and any other important information. No walk-ins are allowed!
Participants MUST attend ALL scheduled class hours.
If you arrive late or leave early, you may not receive the stipend or
credit your requested.
If you cannot attend a class you have signed up for, please notify us as
soon as possible by responding to the confirmation e-mail
address.
We understand that content evolves in classes that are offered
repeatedly so as space allows, you may repeat a PDA, however you will
receive a credit or stipend only once.
If you have questions or
comments contact Stacy Keiser.
