Committee Reports
Room Parties – Kathy Berry reported on plans for the
Halloween parties, still needs some volunteers in some
classrooms, will send out a request via the e-mail list. Many
people want to donate supplies but not enough people want to
come in and be there for the parties. We need to let people know
that it’s not scary to be in the classroom during these parties.
Hospitality – Angie Stoewer reported on plans to furnish
snacks during parent teacher conference day.
Scrip – Karl Sila reported that there is still time to
order scrip, the deadline is Friday, so no numbers to report yet
Float – Darren Sampson reported on the float building
day. The Sampsons did a lot of prep work, and will do the final
assembly Friday morning. 15 fifth graders (14 girls, one boy)
and 5 parents showed up to help, the kids did artwork and
thought up slogans. The kids worked really well together. A
trailer was donated, but was in violation of a town ordinance
concerning parking, a temporary waiver was obtained. Still need
10 bales of hay, can be borrowed and returned. There are some
leads on the hay. Come to the parade and check out the float,
there is a surprise addition we can’t tell you about yet!
New Business
Motion: To reimburse the Sampsons for any money spent
above the float budget. (approximate cost: $12) Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned 7:20.
