nominated via a committee and voted upon. We will need all 4
board positions filled for next year. The nominating committee
should be formed by January and then meet by February.
(Nominating Committee: Kathy Berry, Chris Nichols, Julie
Workman)
When distributing handouts, please divide
them up by classroom and place them in each teachers box.
Monday, November 19th – 6:00 PM
Training session for concessions night. At that training session
the representative from the Coliseum will schedule a night for
us. This would most likely be for a hockey game. No one under 18
is permitted in the stands. Cashier duties, popcorn, drinks,
etc…There will be a concessions manager to handle complaints. We
are required to wear a t-shirt or polo that represents our
organization (or matching colored shirts) and black pants. They
will provide a black visor for 10% grocery sales and 8% alcohol
sales. Most games start at 7, but will need to be there early to
prep and get things started before the game. Would need to be
there 1 hour prior to the event and plan for 4-4 ½ hour shifts.
Each stand takes anywhere from 3-6 people. If we get several
people, we’re hoping to man 2-3 stands on the night of the
event.
Please check the directory that came home.
There are some errors in phones numbers and room codes. Please
let Dianna Cordero know if there are changes that need to be
made as soon as possible. There was a computer glitch.
Now that the cold weather has settled in,
please park in the parking lot when dropping off and picking up.
Please do not park in the driving lane to maintain safety.
Treasurer’s Report: Michele
Sampson. Fall Fund Raiser raised $11,000 which will result in
approximately $5,000 profit after paying the company. $109 was
the fee for processing checks. It was supposed to be waived, but
the individual that does that no longer works at the bank.
Principal’s Report: Mrs. Erickson
approximately 90% of kids have turned in their first to “Keys to
Reading” keys. They had popsicles in September, then ate outside
in October, and something exciting is planned for November. Kids
are also beginning to make connections so they are seeing the
benefit of the program.
PBIS – the goal is to reduce the number of
referrals per month. They have some strategies in place to
monitor repeat offenders. Behavior has improved from last year.
Financially, the PBIS budget has been cut by $1,500 this year.
They are requesting $500 for the PBIS cart and they want to take
the kids to a movie in town and they will need an additional
$500 to make that happen.
American Education Week is next week: She
will be doing a few things for the teachers to let them know
they are appreciated. She just talked to a group that will come
and do 5-10 minute massages. She will also provide lunches.
We are at 45% free and reduced lunch. More
students are eating hot lunch at school than last year (approx.
40 meals per day). Trying to make things go more smoothly in the
lunch room (leaving ketchup, mustard on table, etc…)
The superintendent will be doing time
evaluations on all principals. They will be taking data on all
of her personal time, time spent on supervising students and
time on instructional leadership. They will spend 5 days
monitoring each principal. He wants the time study to be able to
show the board why the administrators need help. There is a
program called “SAMS” using a model where someone else comes in
to do the managerial duties (United Way Campaign, etc…) They
would also being dealing with the physical aspects of the
building (heating, lunch room). Mrs. Erickson would then be
freed up to spend more time in the classrooms. If you see an
individual in the school shadowing Mrs. Erickson, that is who it
is. They will be dressed all in blacks and they will not
interact with students or teachers during this time.
Letter on the front door is for fire and
police services.
Current enrollment 345 approximately 300
students will attend the end of the year reward for the “Keys”
program.
