"IMAGE measures the progress of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students in attaining the English-language reading and writing skills needed to achieve the Illinois Learning Standards. 

The tests are administered annually to students with LEP who have been enrolled in a district on or before September 30 of the current school year and are in a state-approved bilingual education program (Transitional Bilingual Education or Transitional Program of Instruction) in their first, second and third year. Students who enroll in a district on October 1 or later will have their first year in the following school year. These students are exempted from ISAT (PSAE in 2001)."

The test for 2001 is scheduled to be administered on March 1.  Parents of LEP students will be contacted prior to testing with further information and details.
