Standardized State Testing
Unit 5, in conjunction with state requirements for
measurement as dictated by the Illinois State Board of
Education, regularly administers the ISAT,
OLSAT, SAT (6th
Grade - Stanford Achievement Test), and the new PSAE.
Results of the ISAT
administered at Unit 5, as well as links to the various
State Report Cards for 1999 - 2000 are also available.
College Entrance Testing
Most colleges require a college entrance test as a part of
their admission requirements--American College Test (ACT) or
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and sometimes up to three
Achievement Tests. These tests are usually taken in the spring
or summer of the junior year in high school.
Students can take these tests as many times as needed.
There is a fee charged for taking these tests. Local testing
sites include Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan
University, Bloomington High School and Normal Community High
School. General information and registration materials for
these tests are available in the Counseling Offices.
American College Test (ACT) - The ACT
is required by most public colleges and community colleges in
Illinois. Many private schools and schools out of state will
accept it also. (If in doubt regarding which test to take,
check the catalog of the school in which you are interested.)
The PSAE test includes the ACT test
and is administered to high school juniors every year.
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) -
Most private schools require the SAT. Check the college
catalog to see if this test is required.
