Brigham to Benefit from Grant Awarded to the ISU Student Education Association (SEA)

A grant awarded to the Illinois State University Student Education Association (SEA) for the Bring the Words to Life program will fund the purchase of bilingual audio books for Brigham Elementary School.

This $1000 grant award will be used to provide bilingual students with expanded access to audio books that support the advancement of English and Spanish language skills. This significant addition to the Brigham Instructional Media Center’s (IMC) collection will serve as a valuable educational resource for the school community.

Kimberly Gray, a junior at Illinois State University and a member of the SEA, served as the Program Coordinator of the grant project, which was largely funded by a CLASS (Community Learning Through America’s Schools) Grant from the National Education Association’s Student Program.

Unit 5 and Brigham Elementary School thank Ms. Gray, the ISU SEA and the NEA Student Program for their support of the Brigham community.

Focus on Students and Good News Reports

The Unit 5 community takes great pride in the accomplishments of its students and staff. The remarkable achievements of students and outstanding professional contributions of faculty and staff are clear demonstrations of Unit 5’s commitment to and progress towards attainment of our mission to “educate each student to achieve personal excellence.”

The Focus on Students and Good News Reports listed below illustrate a small fraction of the consistently exceptional achievements of individuals throughout the district. Focus on Students items showcase the successes of Unit 5 pupils. Good News Reports celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of Unit 5 faculty and staff members. Both of these recognition reports are routinely presented at Board of Education meetings and are presented in honor of distinctive contributions to the Unit 5 community.
